A Navigate U Step-by-Step Guide

Policy 6-100 Revision Process

Overview

This project is focused on revising Policy 6-100: Instruction and Evaluation—the policy that governs courses at the U. To increase student, faculty, and staff success, an in-depth revision process launched in September 2024 to revise the outdated policy and collaborate as One U.

The working group met biweekly from September 2024 through May 2025. They reviewed, discussed, debated, and iterated the policy section-by-section and proposed substantive revisions.

Feedback and Governance Process

Starting in Fall 2025, we are proceeding through a robust feedback process to listen to a broad range of campus stakeholders via constituent group presentations, three townhalls, and presentations to the Academic Senate. The feedback process will be used to iterate the proposed revisions to present to the Academic Senate for a vote in late Spring 2026.

To review the proposed recommendations, please access the Policy 6-100 Box Folder. In this folder you will find:

  • A memo that outlines all significant changes and the reasoning behind them
  • The proposed revised policy
  • The revised rules associated with the policy
  • A link to the feedback survey
  • Additional supporting documents

If you have questions, please contact the revisions team at policy6-100@utah.edu.
