Policy 6-100 Revision and Implementation

Overview

Policy 6-100: Instruction and Evaluation governs courses at the University of Utah, including expectations related to course delivery, credit hours, grading final examinations, attendance, accommodations, course feedback and other instructional practices. 

An in-depth revision process began in September 2024 to modernize the policy, clarify expectations, align related rules and procedures, and better support student, faculty and staff success. The revised policy and associated rules were passed by the Academic Senate in April 2026 and went into effect on August 1, 2026

Faculty instructors, academic leaders, and staff should review the updated requirements and incorporate them into applicable instructional, administrative, and academic practices.
