These plans are crucial for guiding students along their academic journey, facilitating the U’s smooth transition into anew catalog system (Course Dog), and ensuring timely completion for more undergraduate students.

Academic Advising for Students-in-Transition
This project outlines the steps that academic advising can implement to support students transitioning from one degree program to another. An intentional plan will enable the University to ensure that students are effectively and efficiently served as they navigate their degrees—holistically, this means that every student meets with an advisor each semester from start to finish.
Confronting Late or Delayed (Re)Enrollment
This project is a detailed approach to addressing late or delayed (re)enrollment in courses to drive semester-to-semester student retention and ultimately improve student completion rates at the University of Utah. It includes key action steps, strategies for identifying and engaging students at risk of not enrolling next term, and interventions to support timely (re)enrollment.
Academic First Experiences
The University of Utah is embarking on a comprehensive initiative to enhance Academic First Experiences across campus. This project outlines the strategic steps necessary to implement and scale Academic First Experiences for students who have declared a major or are still exploring

Syllabus Transparency
The University of Utah is working with units to improve the posting of syllabi to advance student success efforts. Beginning in Spring 2025, we anticipate all instructors use the CIS system to post their syllabi. This will move all units into compliance with the existing requirement that syllabi be posted at least one week before the first week of class (Policy 6-100 III.C.5).
